English netTAP 100 connects two communication networks and acts as a gateway for sophisticated conversions between a Real-Time Ethernet protocol (2-port) and a fieldbus protocol or a serial automation protocol as well as between two fieldbus protocols and between a fieldbus protocol and a serial automation protocol. netTAP 100 supports slave and master functionality in any combination. Licensed master functionality is unlimited.
A memory card slot allows the operator to save firmware and configuration on a memory card. In the event of a fault, the operator can resume operation within seconds by removing the memory card from the netTAP 100 and connecting it to a replacement device.
In addition to the standard protocols, netTAP 100 supports the programming of special serial protocols using the Lua-based scripting language netSCRIPT. The included netSCRIPT development environment enables the convenient and fast implementation of any proprietary serial protocol including the possibility to pre- and post-process the data when converting to the secondary I/O protocol.
